Trend Micro

Trend Micro is a global leading provider of comprehensive anti-virus, Internet content security, and outbreak management software and services. These products and services are designed to deliver coordinated protection at application and network layers to proactively manage the outbreak lifecycle - from vulnerability prevention to malicious code prevention and elimination. Trend Micro’s product and services categories are designed to address all major areas of the enterprise.

TREND MICRO PRODUCTS are basically licensed per number of personalised users to be protected.

The number of servers on which the product is installed is therefore irrelevant. Personalisede-mail accounts can be taken as the basis of reference. If there are no e-mail accounts available as the reference basis, the number of licenses is determined on the basis of nodes. “Nodes” is used to include any workplace PC, workstation, network PC, NC, etc. that is to be protected directly or indirectly by TREND MICRO Anti-Virus Software solutions. The higher number of email accounts or nodes is taken as the basis for licensing. licenses are granted in the following increments/licensing steps:

The minimum license is for 26 users, with the exceptions of TREND MICRO Small & MediumBusiness (SMB) products, which are available starting from as few as 5 seats. Example: with 573 e-mail accounts/nodes, the Enterprise license is rounded up to the next number divisible by 25 users (i.e. 575 users in this case). The price list applicable at the relevant time is always the basisfor calculations.

License extension/Additional users

What are additional seats?

The “additional” is a new purchase of seats when the customer already possesses a valid license for that specific product.

How do I calculate the price for additional seats?

  • An additional is always valid for a minimum of 12 months.
  • The start date of the additional seats is the date the order is processed.
  • The price is calculated by combining the existing number of users to the additional number of users requested.
  • Then using this combined user number: go to this price band on the pricelist. The higher the user-number the cheaper the price.
Additional seats = Co-termination of dates.
  • Co-termination is Trend Policy and mandatory.
  • The sale of additional seats to an existing license must be accompanied by the renewal of the existing license, so that there is only one license end date (LED) on the new combined license. This is defined as “co-termination”.
  • The price-band you use for renewing the existing license is the total user number price-band.
  • Minimum Additional seats must be 5-User
  • Additional Seats from SMB to EE is not possible

Extending maintenance

For the first year of installation, maintenance is included in the purchase price (see customer care notice for term: 3 calendar days after invoicing by TREND MICRO for 12 months). Maintenance includes free virus signature updates, all product releases and support (from the firstlevelsupport contact shown in the customer care notice) by telephone, fax or e-mail. Thereafter the maintenance fee for 12 months is 30% of the list price applicable at the relevant time.

Product extensions/Cross-upgrades

In the case of cross-upgrades to product bundles, TREND MICRO products already being used and under maintenance that are a component part of the bundle can be imputed at a maximum of 10%.
