Microsoft Open Value

An Open Value agreement may be the right choice for you if:

• Your organisation is small or medium-sized
• You have two or more PCs
• You want to spread your payments
• You want Software Assurance built in as standard.

How does it work?
You can begin an Open Value agreement with a minimum of five licences of either any mix of products, or, if you wish standardise your desktop software, by choosing products from either the Desktop Professional Platform or Small Business Platform.* The cost of your product licences are fixed, and payments are split equally over three years. With Open Value you also have the choice of 'renting' your licences which could further reduce the cost of your software licences. At the end of the three years, you may renew your agreement to continue to enjoy the benefits of software assurance such as access to the latest upgrades.

*Desktop Professional Platform includes Microsoft Office Professional, Microsoft Windows Professional Upgrade, Microsoft Core CAL.

Small Business Platform includes Microsoft Office Small Business Edition, Microsoft Small Business Server CAL and Windows Professional Upgrade.

Does Open Value include Software Assurance?
If you have an Open Value agreement, you automatically benefit from Software Assurance. This includes technical support, tools, significant productivity resources and the continuing right to upgrade to any subsequent version(s) of the product you've bought, as long as the release occurred while your product licence was covered by Software Assurance.
